Kremlin: Putin, Kerry will meet Thursday for talks on Syria, Ukraine and bilateral relations

Moscow, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet on Thursday with the US State Secretary John Kerry in Moscow for talks on the situation in Syria and Ukraine and bilateral relations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced Wednesday.

In a statement to reporters, Peskov said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend the meeting, adding that the two top diplomats will brief President Putin on the results of their bilateral talks which will be held earlier.

In another context, Peskov said that the airstrikes which launched by the long-range Tu-22M3 bombers of Russia’s Aerospace Forces on the sites of ISIS in the area surrounding Palmyra city is a part of the continuing process of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria.

Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that six Russian Tu-22M3 long-range bombers took off from an airbase in Russia and directed strikes to facilities and positions for ISIS terrorist organization to the east of Palmyra and in al-Sukhneh and Arak areas in Syria.
