Moscow, SANA – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that a Russian delegation arrived in Belarus to hold negotiations with the Ukrainian side.
Peskov said that according to an agreement that has been reached, a Russian delegation arrived in Belarus to hold talks with the Ukrainians, expressing the Russian side’s readiness to start talks in the Belarusian city of Gomel.
Kremlin spokesman pointed out that the Russian delegation included officials from the foreign and defense ministries and Russian Presidential office.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in turn said in a statement on Sunday that the Belarus lands are not fit as a platform for talks with Moscow, expressing openness to dialogue in other places like Warsaw, Budapest and Istanbul.
Peskov pointed out yesterday that President Putin ordered to suspend the special military operation in Donbas waiting the start of talks with Kyiv, but the operation resumed after Kyiv’s rejection.
