Two airplanes carrying humanitarian aid offered by UNICEF arrive in Qamishli

Hasaka, SANA – Two airplanes carrying medical supplies and formula food for infants arrived in Qamishli Airport in the northeastern province of Hasaka in the past two days.

The humanitarian aid supplies, offered by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) under the supervision of the UN World Food Program (WFP), are to be distributed to poor people and families who came to Hasaka fleeing the terrorists’ acts in their home areas.

The first of the two airplanes, which were sent as part of a fourth air bridge set up by the UN to deliver humanitarian aid to Syria, carried on board 1329 family medical kits and 1080 other kits containing medical supplies for infants, according to the WFP office in Qamishlis.

The second airplane, the office told SANA reporter, carried 3,000 packets of formula food for infants, 900 medical kits, 561 laundry detergent packets and 2000 water purification tablet packets.
