Provinces, SANA- Some 25,875 10th students from all provinces participated on Sunday in the tests of Syrian Science Olympiad in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, IT, and biology.
These tests are organized by the National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad in cooperation with Education Ministry for the students who qualified from Schools level to Regions level.
Head of the National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad Imad al-Azab pointed out that a new mechanism has been adopted to make the qualification more specific aiming at giving opportunity for the most efficient students.
He pointed out that the participation in the competitions that started from the levels of schools, regions, provinces and finally to the national level as the finals will be held at the beginning of 2017.
AL-Azab noted that the winners will be prepared to take part in the international Olympiads next July which are: the International Mathematical Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the International Physics Olympiads in Indonesia, International Chemistry Olympiad in Thailand, International Informatics Olympiad in Iran, and the International Biology Olympiad in UK.
For their part, a number of students participating in the tests said they hope to achieve positive results on the national and international levels.
