Prime Minister meets figures from al-Midan neighborhood in Damascus

Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi on Monday met social figures, businessmen, and dignitaries from al-Midan neighborhood in Damascus.

The meeting touched on the state of economic activity in the neighborhood, means to bolster reconciliation efforts, the issue of abductees and missing people, monitoring prices in markets, and reducing electricity rationing hours.

Al-Halaqi said that the war on Syria resulted in negative ramifications on people’s livelihoods and had a negative psychological impact on society, and that this requires all Syrians to stand together in the face of terrorism and work to strengthen reconciliations, all while confronting terrorism, media warfare, rumors, and the Takfiri cultural invasion.

For their part, the locals of al-Midan voiced support for the government and the Syrian Arab Army in the battle against terrorism, voicing confidence in their ability to achieve victory over terrorism and rebuild Syria.

They also expressed adherence to national unity, and said that most Syrian industrialists who left the country have a genuine desire to return and restart their businesses.
