Unified mechanism for managing temporary housing centers finalized

Aleppo, SANA – Social Affairs Minister Kinda al-Shammat said that a new unified mechanism for managing services in temporary housing centers has been finalized along with a program for providing psychological support to various demographics including orphans, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Chairing a meeting of the relief subcommittee in Aleppo on Friday, al-Shammat called on all humanitarian and relief societies to abide by laws, regulations, and work programs, asserting that any cases of corruption in this field will not be treated with leniency.

She pointed out that SYP 23 million have been allocated for carrying out social and development projects in al-Safira area in the province.

In turn, National Reconciliation State Minister Ali Haidar reviewed the Ministry’s ongoing efforts, saying that reconciliation in Aleppo province can be realized, while Aleppo Governor Mohammad Marwan Olabi reviewed the state of humanitarian work in the province, saying that constant efforts are being exerted to help affected families.

The meeting was attended by representatives of humanitarian and relief societies who briefed the attendants on their work, as well as heads of state establishments who discussed their plans to provide health, education, and social services to affected families.

Al-Shammat, Haidar, and Olabi also met representatives of international organizations operating in the province and discussed their work and programs, in addition to inspecting temporary housing centers and checking on the families living there.
