Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday issued decree No. 206 for the year 2021 tasking Engineer Hussein Arnous with forming the cabinet in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Eng. Arnous was born in Idleb 1953, and graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Aleppo University 1978.
He was appointed as the Head of Engineers Syndicate Branch in Idleb between 1989 and 1994, and Director of General Company of Roads between 1992 and 2002, and then he became Assistant Minister of Transport between 2002 and 2004, between 2004 and 2009 he became Director General of the Public Institution for Road transport.
Arnous was appointed as Governor of Deir Ezzor from 2009 till 2011 and as a Governor of Quneitra in 2011, from 2013 to 2016, he became Minister of Public Works, and a Minister of Public Works and Housing from 2016 to 2018.
Since 2013, He has become a member of the Central Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, and since 2018 he has become a Minister of Water Resources.
In June 2020, he was assigned the duties of the prime minister, in addition to his duties as a Minister of Water Resources, then he was appointed as Prime Minister from 30/8/2020 till 1/8/2021.
Arnous is married with five children.
