Health Minister, Belarus Ambassador discuss cooperation

Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Dr. Nizar Yazigi met Ambassador of Belarus in Damascus Alexander Ponomarev on , affirming to him Syria’s desire to improve cooperation with Belarus in the field of health, particularly in procuring medicine.

Yazigi also said that Syria wants to sign an agreement on the exchange of medicine and mutual approval of pharmaceuticals approved in either country which would help reduce technical and routine steps in terms of procuring medicine.

He also thanked the Belarusian government and people for their honest support for the Syrian people and their efforts to provide the Syrians’ health needs in light of the unjust unilateral sanctions imposed on Syria which affected the entire health sector.

For his part, Ponomarev said that his government is keen on improving cooperation with Syria in the field of health and meeting this sector’s needs.
